After much prayer, discussion, and collaboration, the Hosanna Homeschool Choir presents the following plan for the 2021 spring semester. All the policies and procedures that follow have been developed from a place of love and concern for our choir families as a whole. Although we all are at liberty to lead our own families in different ways at home and in our personal and social lives, the board has an obligation to lead in a way that it determines is best for the collective group. Our desire is to be able to continue to provide a quality music experience to homeschool students of all ages while still being wise and prudent for this present time. Our prayer is that our families would show their support of Hosanna Homeschool Choir in their enthusiasm for and cooperation in the upcoming semester.

Choir Maximum Numbers:
Choir Meeting Times:
Sonshine and Celebration Choirs will start at staggering times. These choirs will enter and exit from the preschool entrance on the southwest side of the building. Jubilee Choir will line up outside of the church’s lower level double doors. Sonshine, Celebration, and Jubilee students will be led to the choir rooms by their directors. Hallelujah students will report directly to their rehearsal space. Sonshine and Celebration parents will be responsible to sign out their children upon pickup at the exit door. Jubilee Choir and Hallelujah Chorus students will be allowed to meet their parent/pick-up person at the vehicle.
Sonshine: Line up starting at 1:30/Enter the building for rehearsal at 1:35/Choir finishes at 2:20
Celebration: Line up starting at 1:25/Enter the building for rehearsal at 1:30/Choir finishes at 2:30
Jubilee: Line up starting at 1:25/Enter the building for rehearsal at 1:30/Choir finishes at 2:30
Hallelujah: May begin arriving in the choir room at 1:25/Choir finishes at 2:30
The students will be asked to wear masks or face shields when walking through the shared spaces of the church building. Masks or face shields will also be required for at least parts of rehearsal times. During this semester, each director will split the rehearsal time between music education and singing/learning new songs. The number of songs that each choir will learn and perform through the semester will be less than in years past.
The building will only be available to families for the use of the restrooms. There will not be any shared, social spaces within the building available to choir students and/or their families this semester.
Outdoor spaces may be used by choirs and by choir families, however, social distancing must be maintained, per church guidelines. If social distancing is not possible, masks must be worn.
It is unclear at this time if Hosanna will be able to host a concert in April. Our scheduled concert date is Friday, April 23. If an in-person concert is not possible, the board will work toward creating a virtual and/or recorded concert.
Choir attendance has always been very important. However, this semester, the board would ask that all families not attend choir if their child/children are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness. Communication with the directors regarding an absence will still be required.
Parent volunteers will still play a vital role in helping our rehearsal times run smoothly. Volunteers will be needed for Sonshine and Celebration Choirs and possibly for other roles should they become necessary. Of course, with the changes to our meeting times and entrance and exit procedures, we understand that some parents may be unable to volunteer. The board, however, would ask that those who are able to volunteer would sign up to help two times throughout the semester.
Changes in Choir Policies or Procedures:
As the semester progresses, the need to alter policies or procedures may arise. The board will attempt to communicate any necessary changes in a timely manner.
